Is Riverside Camping & RV Resort gated?
Yes. Riverside features a single gated entrance with controlled access and a 12-foot perimeter security wall, making it one of the most secure RV resorts in New Hampshire. This is a significant selling point for owners of premium coaches who want peace of mind while traveling.
Does Riverside have river access?
Yes. Riverside Camping & RV Resort features a 60-foot dock on the Connecticut River, one of New England's most scenic waterways, with direct access for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming. The resort sits at the confluence of the Connecticut River and the Israel River.
What hookups are available at RV sites?
All RV sites include full hookups: water, sewer, and electric. Most sites offer both 30-amp and 50-amp electric service. The three basic pull-through sites (50, 51, 52) have 30-amp only. Every RV site is on a paved road with a fire pit and picnic table.
What is the maximum RV length?
Most sites accommodate RVs up to 50 feet in length. Some back-in sites (002 and 003) have a maximum of 30 feet. Our smart booking form will recommend the best site type based on your rig's length and configuration.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, Riverside is pet-friendly. Dogs and cats are welcome with a current rabies certificate. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times and owners must clean up after their pets. There is no additional pet fee.
What is the cancellation policy?
Standard cancellations follow Campspot's cancellation policy. However, please note that Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Columbus Day weekends have a zero-refund policy regardless of cancellation notice. We strongly recommend checking dates before booking holiday weekends.
Is there a pool?
Yes. Riverside has a heated swimming pool open daily from 10 AM to dusk, Memorial Day through Columbus Day. The pool offers stunning mountain views. There is no lifeguard on duty — swim at your own risk. Day visitors can use the pool for a $5 fee.
What is the dark sky experience?
Every night at 10:00–10:30 PM, Riverside's exterior lighting is turned off for our dark sky viewing experience. Lancaster, NH sits in Coos County, one of the least light-polluted counties in New England, with Bortle Scale ratings of 3–4. Guests can observe the Milky Way, meteor showers, and deep-sky objects from their campsites.
When is Riverside open?
Riverside Camping & RV Resort is open seasonally from Memorial Day through Columbus Day, approximately 150 days per year. Check-in is at 2:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM.
How far is Riverside from Boston?
Riverside Camping & RV Resort is approximately 2.5 hours (150 miles) from Boston, MA. Other driving distances: Portland, ME (3 hours / 140 miles), Hartford, CT (4 hours / 220 miles), Montreal, QC (3 hours / 175 miles), Concord, NH (2 hours / 100 miles).
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort for all guests. Tent sites T1–T5 (Water + Electric) have Wi-Fi coverage, but the rustic tent sites (R1–R4) do not.
What is near Riverside Camping & RV Resort?
Riverside is ideally located for exploring the White Mountains region. White Mountain National Forest is adjacent to the property. Santa's Village in Jefferson is 15 miles away. Weeks State Park is 6 miles away. The Mount Washington Auto Road is about 30 miles south. The Connecticut River is accessible directly from our 60-foot dock.
Are there pickleball courts?
Yes. Riverside features dedicated pickleball courts for open play and friendly tournaments. Equipment is available at the office. The courts offer mountain views as a backdrop. We also have shuffleboard, horseshoes, tetherball, and a sports field.
Can I book a seasonal site?
Yes. Riverside has 50 seasonal sites available from May through October. Seasonal rates are not available for online booking — please call us at (603) 631-7433 to discuss seasonal availability and pricing.
What is the speed limit in the resort?
The speed limit throughout Riverside Camping & RV Resort is 7½ mph. We maintain this low limit for the safety of all guests, children, and pets.
Can I fly a drone?
No. Drones are prohibited at Riverside Camping & RV Resort for the privacy, safety, and enjoyment of all guests.
Do you have tent camping?
Yes. We offer two types of tent sites: Water & Electric Tent Sites ($49/night) with 30-amp electric, water hookup, fire pit, picnic table, mountain views, and Wi-Fi; and Rustic Tent Sites ($44/night) with no hookups, fire pit, mountain views, river access, and river views. Rustic sites are about an 8–10 minute walk from main amenities.
Is there firewood available?
Yes, firewood is available for purchase at the office. All guests must purchase firewood on-site unless they are a Coos County resident. This policy helps prevent the spread of invasive species like the emerald ash borer.
What about stargazing at Riverside?
Riverside is one of the premier stargazing locations in New Hampshire. Lancaster sits in Coos County with Bortle Scale 3–4 dark sky ratings. Our nightly lights-off policy at 10 PM creates ideal conditions for viewing the Milky Way, meteor showers (including the Perseids in August), planets, and deep-sky objects. Guests with telescopes are welcome — the flat, paved sites provide stable platforms for astrophotography equipment.
Are there weekly or monthly discounts?
Yes. Weekly and monthly discounts apply automatically at checkout through Campspot when you book 7 or more consecutive nights. For stays longer than one month, or for seasonal rates (May–October), please call (603) 631-7433 directly.
